Panna, situated in the north-east part of the Madhya Pradesh and known for diamond mines also holds great places for tourist visits. Although our main interest was to visit Panna national park but this city also carries a rich temple of great architecture. With avifauna and a sanctuary for rare wildlife, Panna is a pace of perpetual tranquility. Let’s start the journey,

  1. Panna National Park – Spanned in the area of 542.67 km square (209.53 sq mi), declared as Tiger reserves of India in 1994, it is the 22nd in India and 5th in Madhya Pradesh. It is known for its rich avifauna and wildlife, with attractions like antelope, wild cats, deer, and wild cats. More than 200 bird species are also present here.

In Jungle safari, you pass through the picturesque gorges and dense forest it gives you a fascinating view of flora & fauna diversity. You would get to see spotted deer, panthers, blackbuck, tigers, and the Indian gazelle. The eccentric plants in this Panna wildlife sanctuary have their own mesmerizing charm.

Best Time To Visit: From 15th October of each year till 30th June of the next year, Panna Tiger Reserve remains open for the tourist. Best Time to visit is between November to mid-March, as the temperature is good and it is full of life with lots of greenery.

  1. Pandava Falls and Caves – If you are a mythology enthusiast, then this place will give reasons to you for rejoice. You would have understood its significance from its name, it is the place where Pandavas lived in their exile period. It is surrounded by the lush green trees & environment with majestic waterfalls and a deep lake which give an awe-awesome feeling when you get a chance to rendezvous with this magical serenity.

Best Time To Visit: You can visit this place anytime all around the year although November to mid-April is the best time to visit.

  1. Jugal Kishoreji Temple – One of the most important & oldest Hindu temples in Panna which was built by the fourth Bundela King Raja Hindupat Singh of Panna. It is said that in the garbha griha of this temple where the idol’s of Radha & Krishan are placed is been brought from Brindavana through Orcha. Temple is showcasing the architectural mastery of Bundela styles such as a pradakshna pat, bhog mandapa, and nat mandapa. Even the attire and ornaments of the idol also reflect the rich culture of Bundelkhand.

If you are planning a char dham yatra, then you need to visit this place else your pilgrimage will be considered as incomplete.

  1. Mahamati Prannathji Temple – A beautiful temple which carries the Hindu as well as Muslim architectural styles in its lotus and domes formation. An important pilgrimage of Pranamis, Mahamati Prannathji Temple built-in 1692, and where thousands of devotees visit during Sharada Purnima. It is said that Mahamati Prannathji lived here for more than 11 years post which is one of the domes he took samadhi inside the temple. This temple is divided into six parts i.e. Shri Khijada Mandir, Shri Chopada Mandir, Shri Baijurajji Mandir, Shri Sadguru Mandir, Shri Bangalaji, and Shri Gummatji.

The main site attraction of this shrine or pilgrimage site is the circular building which is built with nine marble domes. Eight out of nine domes represent the eight directions and the central one has the divine golden kalasha.

  1. Baldeoji Temple – A masterpiece that has a gothic feel and inspired by Roman architecture mainly called a Palladian architectural style. The temple has a large hall which is called maha mandapa with massive high rise pillars and considered as a replica of St. Paul’s Cathedral, London. The image of Shri Baldeoji, Carved from black shaligrami stone, is placed on a high raised platform that allows the unhindered view even from a distance.

  1. Padmavati Devi or Badi Devi Temple – Another temple that holds a lot of significance in terms of its historical perspective with the fact that the protector of the happiness and prosperity of Panna Goddess Padmavati live here.
